WHAT TO CHARGE

What to charge?

This is, without a doubt, one of the most commonly asked questions within The Freelance Florist, from both our members and our employers. It turns out it’s actually really hard to talk about money, to gauge your own worth and also to advertise positions at the right level required.

We want to unravel some of the finer details about this topic and demystify how you should go about charging your worth whilst not signing up for work that is beyond your skill level. There is work out there for everyone and freelancing can be about career building opportunities just as much as it can be about being an expert within the industry. We want people to start talking about money and rates for work and skill levels in an open and honest way to build confidence and clarity within the industry.

Below you will find a link to our guidance around what to charge, for both freelancers and employers. With so many factors to consider there’s no straight forward answer, and it will likely vary for everyone, job to job. But taking into account all the things we’ve covered in our ‘Freelance Rate’ document will help you reach those decisions.
