ASSISTANT IN-HOUSE FLORIST

Working on-site the assistant florist will work full time through the season (1st May- 30th Oct) to help achieve the team objective of maintaining the highest possible standards through the season and deputise for the senior florist in their absence.

Responsibilities include:

*Working as part of a team to maintain a high level of presentation of all the floral compositions and plants that the department is responsible for. This includes making sure that all arrangements and plants are in keeping with the company aesthetic, flowers are fresh, in the correct colours using appropriate varieties and water in vases is perfectly clean at all times.

*Managing their own time effectively to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and without disruption to the guests or other staff members, regularly feeding back information to the senior florist to help control stock levels and general organisation.

*Confidently leading flower lessons for small groups or on a one-to-one basis.

*Picking flowers from the garden and communicating clearly with colleagues at the start/end of every shift to make sure anything needed is prepared in advance.

*Ensuring all plants inside and out are watered and cared for on a daily basis, feeding back necessary information to the senior florist

*Keeping the Flower House clean and tidy, sweeping the floor,conditioning and monitoring stock, monitoring sundries levels, regularly checking that vases are undamaged and that the storage areas are kept organised.

*Assisting with mini weddings and small events to a high standard and to the guests specifications.

*Ensuring that excellent levels of communication are maintained by passing on information regularly, offering assistance to colleagues if required and creating a supportive and fair work environment by participating in tasks in an equal manner.

The assistant florist will work closely with the senior florist as their second in command and be confident to be the point of contact in their absence.

The ideal candidate will have: A minimum of 2 years hands-on practical floristry experience An adaptable, positive, hard-working attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Creative flair, a passion for flowers and a genuine desire to learn, improve and flourish within the industry An excellent level of spoken and written English. Be organised, reliable and able to work efficiently solo as well as part of a small team. We are based in an extremely rural and isolated location so a valid driver’s license and confidence to drive in Italy would be a plus but not essential.
