A BIT ABOUT ME

Flowers! trying to grow a sarah raven worthy selection but worried my fingers are not green enough, I have two nearly adult sons & a Labrador and an excellent florist assistant in my husband. I love running workshops, wedding consultations & choosing blooms, always keen to learn new stuff and collaborating with other florists, especially love the radio blasting out while flowering away in my studio. Have one superpower, I am able to drink stone cold coffee. Early morning swims and biscuits are high up on the list of likes too.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

I trained at Easton & Otley College to level 3 city & guilds in 2011, I freelanced for a short period with some great shop and event florists, then partnered a florist shop for nearly 4 years. The business thrived & relocated to a bigger shop. I moved on to persue the freelance route to increase the creativity and flexibility in my floristry career, concentrating on Wedding and weekly Contract work, picking up Funerals too. Being able to travel around and work with other florists on projects is a joy. I am hoping to complete level 4 & 5 city & guilds over the next couple of years. I like the challenge of going foam free, not always achieving this, but I keep trying at every opportunity as well as using British flowers when possible.

I can offer hard work and creativity, I know the hours of onsite event work, no lunch and hanging off ladders for ages. Am a pro active in problem solving and happy to wash out buckets and condition as well as taking on all aspects of floristry. I enjoy large scale installations through to making tiny buttonholes. I really like coming up with little flourishes that make our profession stand out and be interesting.
