EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
This year I studied a career course at Madrid Flower School as I wanted to understand the business side of flowers and excel my skills within events, weddings, installations and corporate designs, I received a qualification for their Professional Program. I chose MFS because I wanted to have the experience of being in a new city and learn a new language whilst studying. When I first transitioned into floristry I took an online course to learn the foundations of this industry, I received a qualification 'New Skills Academy, Floristry Diploma' (2020)
I gained experience working for a florist in East London where I volunteered Aug 2020 and learned how to make a spiral bouquet as well as understand how a small studio/shop is managed. After my experience at the studio I began to visit London wholesalers on weekends to learn about flower offerings, pricing structures and the logistics of flowers. I bought my own stems and learnt how to make arrangements and bouquets at home which I then began to sell locally and around London, managing this on side of my full time job. I have freelance experience working for a London based florist on a large scale installation as part of Chelsea in Bloom. I worked with MFS to create an installation for LLOP Madrid, a clothes store / gallery space. I collaborated with NowCuration (a curatorial collective focused on contemporary, emerging art, based in London) where I created an arrangement inspired by their exhibition 'In Dreams Begin', on display at Fitzrovia Gallery. I collaborated with TinyWindowStore to create a design for their 2021 AW collection photoshoot.
