A BIT ABOUT ME

Hi I am a mother to three grown up children (23,22 and 19) who haven't actually flown the nest yet but are fluffing their wings. I am married to a lovely man who supports me in everything I do. We have a small fluffy white dog who we adore. I love my family and friends. As much as I love entertaining, we socialise most weekends, I also love to be at home with my family, just chilling.

My favourite flower… It's so difficult to choose, I love roses, tulips, ranunculus and anything en masse in a big vase

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

I studied NVQ Level 2 Floristry five years ago, full time (one year) at Writtle University College and then continued with Level 3, part time (two years).
You could say I do love learning as I am currently studying Level 4 Floristry, again at Writtle. Exams in January - yikes! To be honest I think it has kept me sane during lockdown!

I started working at a small florist shop when I was studying Level 2 Floristry in 2016 and had to get some work experience. At the end of the course, the owner offered me a job. So I worked there part time for five years. I was usually in the shop on my own, so open up and set up, clean buckets, condition flowers, meet customers face to face and on the phone, make hand tied bouquets, posies, funeral tributes, Christmas wreaths and table decorations. Whatever is needed. We worked throughout lockdown, with the shop door shut and delivering locally. It was really busy.
I also worked for a few months for another local florist until lockdown. This was mostly wedding work, which I really enjoyed. I worked on wreath workshops at Christmas, I enjoyed helping people create something they loved and had made themselves.
I have recently had some freelance experience and have loved it so much I have decided to get out there and go for it! Wish me luck!
