A BIT ABOUT ME
My ideal day off would be looking around antique markets and shops, a nice lunch followed by some cake, then chilling out with a good book in the garden. I appreciate art and design with a particular interest in photography as this is what I studied at university. I also have a keen interest in interior design, I’ve constantly got a project on in my house or garden. I also love taking family days out walking with our dog Maggie.
My favourite flower… It changes with the seasons, currently for Autumn I’d have to say Dahlia’s
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Level 2 Floristry
BA (hons) Photography
I’ve worked in the floristry Industry for fourteen years, I started off working in a busy interflora shop where I still help out at peak times. I then went into work for The Traditional Flower Company for four years, where I gained a knowledge of growing flowers and working on up to 80 weddings a year. This gave me the confidence to start up my own business, which I’ve had now for 8 years. Whilst running my own business I’ve also worked part-time for the J.Van.Vliet group as a Sundries department manager to subsidise my income, this has given me a good knowledge in other aspects of the floristry trade and sourcing materials. In the last couple of years I’ve taken on less of my own weddings and have been enjoying working freelance for clients such as Flowers by Breige, Sean Hirst, Flowers by Natalie, The Flower Divas, The Topiary Tree, Reckless Agency. This has allowed me to work with big teams on some larger scaled events and installations.
