A BIT ABOUT ME
Flowers aside I love spending time with friends and family, we love a game night and are definitely not competitive at all! We have a puppy Babs so enjoy being outdoors, hiking, cycling, exploring new places and finding little coffee shops with 'proper coffee'! Love a bit of interior design and we're currently renovating our house so rummaging in salvage yards and antique shops is heaven. On a lifetime quest to find some old gold swan taps!
My favourite flower⦠Icelandic poppy, peony, garden rose
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
I don't have any traditional paper qualifications but have learnt all I know on the job and truly believe I have gained so much more from this style of learning.
My floristry passion started in school when I would take every opportunity to 'hang out' at the local florist in our village to try and learn the skills and play with flowers, I then progressed to the go to girl for office flowers (thank yous, birthdays and leavings bouquets). When the PR company I worked for decided to close I took the opportunity to make something good of it and try freelance as a florist. Since starting I have gained experience in bridal work; bouquets, buttonholes, corsages, flower crowns. Running workshops; flower crowns, wreaths, urn arrangements. Event work, large instillations; hoops, ladders, chandeliers, floral curtains etc. I have also worked on a flower farm and in a retail florists environment. I really love what I do!
PREFERRED TYPE OF FLORISTRY WORK
I genuinely love how varied floristry can be, and am just as happy creating a seasonal posy as I am a large wild installation.
