EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
I have City and Guilds floristry qualifications which I gained at night school over a couple of years . I also attended the Tallulah Rose career change course in 2013. I have worked as a wedding and events florist and freelancer for the last 6 years.
I have always been invested in floristry . My first Saturday job at the age of 14 was in a flower shop. I have always been on lots of courses over the years with the great and good florists inc Jane Packer , Paula Pryke and Sarah Raven . Now I work as a florist full time I still make sure I attend one or two workshops each year including Anna Potter from Swallows and Damsons, Sabine Darrall, Aesme ,Tammy Hall of Wild Bunch, The Garden Gate Flower Company .
I have my own small business , Pollen Floral Joy and I specialise in weddings and events . I also regularly freelance for a number of wedding and event florists . I have built up this network by recommendations and by approaching people whose work I admire . In the peak wedding season I will generally be freelancing 6 days a week for a variety of florists and also fitting in my own work too . I have experience of every type of floral design from personal flowers to huge installations . I really enjoy the variety and camaraderie that freelance work generally offers.
PREFERRED TYPE OF FLORISTRY WORK
I enjoy all types of floristry work . Most of my work has been with weddings, parties, photoshoots. I have also freelanced in florists shops occasionally. I also enjoy making up funeral flowers .
