A BIT ABOUT ME
I'm very passionate about floristry, obviously! Other than that, I love plants, traveling, singing, reading, petting dogs, running, cycling, hiking, and all things Taylor Swift (major Swifty here). I love sitting in a sunny park, I'll never say no to a beer/glass of wine/iced coffee/gin martini, and I'm obsessed with vintage clothes/charity shops.
A favourite flower… Butterfly Ranunculus, Clematis, Sweet Pea, Delphinium, Peony, Tulip (I could go on and on and on)
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
I've worked in the Floral Industry for 4 years now and it's been incredible. I was hired by The Unlikely Florist in 2019 and I quickly learned floristry basics and then got thrown into the deep end many times, to the point where the deep end is where I now thrive.
I haven't done any formal training up to this point, just learned everything I know on the job and through my own self taught research for certain techniques or mechanics.
McQueens -
Since starting with McQueens in early February I've worked at the Corinthia Hotel. the Mandarin Hotel, the Mayfair retail shop and the head studio in Bethnal Green. I pride myself on being able to adapt quickly to new environments and work paces, which has been proven over the last several months.
Responsibilities have included producing room amenities, retail orders, creating and maintaining installations, ordering flowers, 5-star customer service, and keeping up with general shop cleanliness.
Most recently, I travelled to Leeds, Birmingham, Aberdeen and Glasgow for the Elton John tour with McQueens transporting plants to each venue and providing flowers for Elton John's dressing rooms.
Creative Florals Inc. :
Whilst waiting for my UK Visa to arrive, I worked 2 months full-time for Creative Florals in Tequesta, Florida. I assisted the owner with daily design tasks, festive designs, shop upkeep and on-site event setups.
Although this was only a short period with Creative Florals, I learned a lot from this experience and showed myself how rapidly I can adapt to new and different work environments.
Wilson and Mitch's Wedding:
When these lovely grooms planned to tie the knot, I was asked to be their florist. The deliverables included the grooms' boutonnieres, 2 large scale tropical arch pieces, 18 table arrangements, 2 large entryway pieces, a cake table arrangement and a sign-in table arrangement.
This was executed completely on my own. From the design consultation, to the sourcing of the flowers, pricing, producing the arrangements and on-site set up on the day.
Atticus and Finlay's Wedding:
My two wonderful friends had a large 150+ guest wedding and I had the honour of being their florist (and a bridesmaid!). The deliverables included all personals such as the bridal bouquet, boutonnieres, and corsages. In addition, I designed a fully olive Chuppa, 26 large table arrangements, cocktail hour bud vases, 2 large bar arrangements, a welcome sign and sweetheart table install.
Again, this was executed completely on my own. From; the design consultation, pricing, sourcing of the flowers, producing the arrangements and the on-site set up on the day.
The Unlikely Florist : Lead Designer & Administrative Manager
Produced daily local delivery orders and designed any event arrangements needed for that day or upcoming weekend.
Handled all customer enquiries and concerns via email and phone throughout the day. Organized all delivery logistics for daily local floral orders and nationwide shipping orders.
Heavily involved in the conversations with wedding/event clients alongside the COO of the company, the design consultation process, booking those events and executing them through to the strike.
Alternated with my small team in the role of buyer at the market 3-4 times per week. Formed close relationships with local wholesale vendors and farms to source product.
Conditioned the flowers brought back to the studio, refreshing water in the buckets, hanging older flowers to dry, and maintaining studio cleanliness

PREFERRED TYPE OF FLORISTRY WORK
I prefer the weddings, events, and installations side of floristry. I also enjoy retail :)
