My name’s Issy, I’m 25, originally from South Wales but now I live in Somerset with my partner. I love colour, the outdoors, baking, running and my family dog named Stanley.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

I stumbled upon the floristry industry after graduation from University where I studied textile design. I did some work experience around Christmas time at Flowers of Bath as it was just after lockdown had lifted and I was craving creativity! I absolutely fell in love with the entire notion of floristry and from there decided to work towards creating a career.
I was lucky enough to also help out at Flowers by Passion, who allowed me to observe talented florists fullfill wedding and events floristry requirements. I also had my first introduction to British flowers here which is something that has become incredibly important to my work.
After some researching I came across Crescent Flower Shop. The family run business was where I learnt a great deal about flower properties, seasonality and was encouraged to be as creative as possible, always. We managed to cover pretty much every aspect of floristry in my two years at the shop from very traditional oasis work to modern and sustainable floristry.

I feel very lucky in this area of work that I am able to be involved in so many special occasions through flowers. One of my favourites is working with a couple and finding a meaningful and beautiful bouquet that matches their special day.
