EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
June 2018: Summer Floristry. Eastleigh College Southampton
8 May 2019: City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Floral Design. Bournmouth Academy of Floristry
9-13 September 2019: Floristry Career Change. The Good Florist, Crediton
In 2020 I worked on designs with local Flowers from the Farm
I grew up with a Mum who taught and practised flower arranging, absorbing an understanding of the mechanics and principles of design and how to stage a design, Harrogate Flower Show and church flower festivals always on the calendar!
My science degree led to a long career with the health service. Communications key. Now scaling down that career, I am rekindling my love for flowers.
Study for City and Guilds level 2 gave me a refresher in techniques and set arrangements for events.
The week with 5 fellow career change enthusiasts at Roberta Emmot's Crediton studio was magic;focused on providing the wedding party with an amazing floral set for their special day. Celebrating nature - underpinned by good business acumen.Inspiration still for each time I pick up familiar or new material.
I belong to 2 local NAFAS groups;I received accolades for my entry to the 2020 virtual regional show.
During 2020 I have learnt more about material which I love, using local Flowers from the Farm. Also growing some material in my own garden. Some worked, some didn't, some has made a surprise appearance this Spring.
Always learning and looking forward to supporting you with your event.
Experience Level:
Beginner - 2 years

Weddings and Events
I am based in Hampshire. If you need help with a bigger event I am happy to consider overnight away.
You are most likely to want me to help with preparing and conditioning material, maybe creating buttonholes, garlands and designs to support your brief, in advance of an event, with venue dressing on the day. I have worked on outdoor meadow and arch installations and comfortable with flower crowns necklaces or wristlets.
I will be quite flexible during the Spring, Summer, Autumn.
